Upon stepping into The Shilla Seoul’s lobby, your attention will be instantly drawn to the tasteful ornament hanging down from the ceiling. This harmonised elegance infused by thousands of crystal beads and light is the 8th dedicated art work by celebrated artist, Seon Ghi Bahk, in collaboration with The Shilla Seoul.

In case you do not know yet, Seon Ghi Bahk is a world-famous installation artist who has pioneered Asia’s contemporary art. His major works include huge installation artworks created by suspending a large number of acryl beads or various materials together by transparent strings and relieve works made by using perspective techniques. This work creates the endless flow of light suggesting the Milky Way in the night sky.

There are more than 450 rooms and suites at The Shilla Seoul, ranging from standard rooms, executive rooms, and a variety of suites. The Executive Business Deluxe Room combines the spacious relaxed Business Deluxe Room setting with the services of The Executive Lounge. There is ample space for two persons.

#3 – Different Swimming Pools for Everyone from Young to Old

The indoor swimming pool is available to Shilla Fitness members and hotel guests. Enjoy a relaxing swim while taking in the panoramic view of Namsan Mountain through the glass dome. This area also features a dry sauna, indoor and outdoor Jacuzzis. You can store your valuables in the individual lockers.

The Urban Island, The Shilla Seoul’s stunning outdoor leisure area, houses a heated pool, Jacuzzis and a children’s pool. This recreational area, which takes relaxation and escape to a whole new level, is indeed a “luxury island in the heart of the city”. The unique theme changes every year, so you’ll always have something new to look forward to whenever you revisit Seoul.

Furthermore, there are cabanas and a rooftop garden at the Urban Island. Located on the top floor of The Shilla Seoul, the Executive Lounge offers a picturesque seasonal view of the Namsan Tower and surrounding mountains, as well as, an excellent panorama of downtown Seoul. You can enjoy its four-times-a-day dining services from breakfast to light snack to afternoon tea to happy hour. The food offerings are extremely generous and delicious.

#6 – The Free Shuttle Buses Are Very Convenient

The Shilla Seoul’s shuttle buses offer three different routes – Internal Shuttle Bus, City Circle to Myeong-dong, and City Circle to Dongdaemun.

The Internal Shuttle Bus loops between the hotel’s main entrance, the hotel’s main lobby, the Shilla Duty Free Shop, and Dongguk University subway station Exit 5. This is available from 9.30am to 10pm, with a frequency of 10 minutes.

The City Circle to Myeong-dong is available on an hourly basis and begins at 9.30am and ends at 8pm. It starts from The Shilla Seoul to the entrance of Myeong-dong to ibs Ambassador at Euljiro il ga to Young Plaza to Shinsegae Department Store.

The City Circle to Dongdaemun has an interval of 30 minutes and is available from 9.30am to 8pm. It starts from The Shilla Seoul to Dongdaemun History & Culture Park to Doosan Tower to APM.

The Shilla Duty Free Shop has an amazing selection of over 500 designer brands featuring luxury fashion, jewellery, cosmetics and other items.
