The EasySpace – Cozy B&B Offering Amazing Ocean Views
August 18, 2017

Despite having visited Taiwan many times, I’ve never ventured out of Taipei. Last week, my girlfriends and I hired a driver and explored the surroundings of Yilan and Fulong. The coastal drive from Yilan to Fulong changed my perception of Taiwan. I’ve always heard about Taiwan’s beauty, but it’s such a different experience to see it with my own eyes. We stayed in Yilan for 2 nights, before we stopped over in Fulong for a night at The EasySpace B&B.
The EasySpace exudes a homely ambience, and this heartwarming feeling is reflected in the history of the house. The host, Amber, is very helpful and loves interacting with new friends. Her grandfather grew up at the village in Fulong, and her father bought the land where The EasySpace is currently located on, to build a house for her grandfather to enjoy his old age. After her grandfather passed on a few years back, the house became her family’s vacation home.
However, it was usually left empty as Amber’s family members are all busy with their respective life commitments. She has been living in America for a long period of time, and only returned to Taiwan two years ago. The family did not want to waste the land, so The EasySpace B&B was established around the time when Amber returned to Taiwan. Her brother and sister-in-law took care of The EasySpace initially, but they preferred the cosmopolitan lifestyle in Taipei city, so Amber, who is more laidback, took over The EasySpace a year ago.
We were hosted at the best room at The EasySpace. The room is spacious, and very clean. The windows are huge, and the placement of the bed gives you a gorgeous ocean view. You can laze in bed to catch the sunrise in the morning! There’s also a balcony for you to relax and stargaze at night.
Although most of the shops and eateries close as early as 5-6pm, The EasySpace boasts good facilities and offers entertainment options to keep you occupied through the night. After an entire day out hiking the nearby mountains, or cycling around the village, you can pamper your exhausted body in the steam room or the sauna room. There’s also a movie screening area at the basement where you can be couch potatoes. Simply choose your preferred movie from a huge range of DVDs and chill on the comfortable sofas!
You can also get nice views of the ocean from the lobby and the dining area. Breakfast served at The EasySpace includes an omelette, toasts, and some healthy greens. You’ll be served either a cup of coffee or tea.
The EasySpace is conveniently located near many scenic spots. We did not have much time to spare, so we only spent a night at The EasySpace. I feel so relaxed and will certainly return to this B&B again. If you’re going to Fulong via the train from Taipei city, Amber will kindly pick you up from Fulong’s train station which is just a short drive from the B&B. Here’s a picture of us with Amber!
