I was assigned to stylist Justin Teo on my first visit. I’ve never permed my hair, so to be honest, I felt a mixed feeling of excitement and nervousness. Justin was very professional when it came to advising me on the style of perm that suits my face shape.

For first timers, you wouldn’t really know how to manage your permed hair. Kenjo salon’s Signature Perm with Omega Therapy Oil Treatment using Mucota is a great solution! Your hair will be shampooed first before a pre-treatment agent is applied for approximately 10 minutes. The hair protecting treatment helps prevent chemicals from damaging your hair.

After this, the perm lotion will be applied for 10 minutes before your hair undergoes two perms, which take around 15 minutes each. Your hair will be rinsed thoroughly so that none of the formula remains in the hair. The hair stylist will then dry your hair thoroughly so that no damp areas remain, and apply a lotion to maintain the shape of your permed hair.

There will be a 10 minutes after-perm treatment which consists of ingredients such as macadamia nut oil, hydrolysed collagen, fatty acids and lactic acid. There are two types of seaweed extracts that cling to the surface of your hair to bring out a smooth, lustrous finish. The treatment also boasts beautifying and aesthetics effects like moisturising, promoting hair growth, and boost immunity. In order to neutralise alkali from previous chemical processes, lactic acid is blended in for your hair to maintain a smooth and healthy texture.

It’s about 2 weeks after I permed my hair, and you can see from the photos that there isn’t any split ends, nor is my hair dry. The perm gives my hair more volume, while retaining my hair’s silky smooth texture. Like they always say, “seeing is believing”. I’ve personally experienced Mucota’s Omega Therapy Oil Treatment with Kenjo salon, and it’s evident that the treatment resulted in retaining moisture for my hair, giving it a lasting glow.
