[Closed] Giving My Hair A Makeover With Mucota Colour And Treatment At Kenjo Salon

I’ve always been in a dilemma when it comes to colouring my hair after hearing negative feedbacks from friends who have coloured their hair. It’s true that colouring your hair causes damage as you’re opening up the cuticle for the colour to be deposited. However, with the right post-colour hair regimen (eg. using Mucota shampoo and conditioner), you’ll be able to reverse the damage, even if you can’t restore your hair to its “virgin” state.

Two weeks ago, I headed to Kenjo Salon, but had no idea what colour suits my hair, so I left the decision in the hands of my hairstylist, Justin. There’s a huge range of colours to pick from, and Justin selected a brown base with red highlights for my hair. He mixed the Olaplex Bond Multiplier into the hair dye to protect my hair. This product rebuilds broken disulfide bonds, and begins the process of preventing damage and repairing hair. I was pretty impressed upon seeing how my colour turned out!

If you’re worried that your hair colour will start to fade, here are tips to help. Remember to wait at least 24 hours before washing your hair after getting it coloured. You should also avoid the pool for at least two weeks, as the chlorine will strip the hair cuticle, allowing minerals to get into the shaft and alter your hue. Being outside under the sun for hours will also affect your colour, so wear a hat or try your best to score a shady spot.

After colouring my hair at Kenjo Salon, I was given the Scena & Mucota treatment. This 4-step treatment helps to keep my hair naturally soft, smooth, and silky. Using advance nano-technology, Scena+ restores and protects my hair by focusing on replacing important natural elements that make up the intercellular components in my hair. S+ infiltrates the scalp and hair quickly, and combines concentrated hyaluronic acid with three kinds of collagen with high moisture holding ability. Next, advanced nano-sized cell membrane complex elements penetrate effectively into the hair, repairing and moisturizing it at the same time. Reactive ceramide-like substances create a web-like structure, preventing moisture and cell membrane complex from flowing out of the hair. Lastly, a 7 layered lamellar liquid crystal structure is formed on the outermost layer which keeps hair moisturized and healthy looking.

Besides undergoing an immediate hair treatment after colouring, you should also invest in products that are specially designed for colour-treated hair. Not only does it prevent your colour from fading fast, it will also help restore shine and moisture to your hair. I’m currently using AIRE 01 Emollient CMC Shampoo. It contains a lot of cleansing ingredients which are scalp and hair-friendly. CMC Amino-acid works on the hair, and washes the hair and scalp well, improving the hair’s texture. It keeps hair volume while giving the hair a smooth texture. I like the refreshing aroma of apple and peach!

I also use the AIRE 03 Light Veil Conditioner once a week, depending on the condition of my hair. It contains collagen, ceramide, and a lot of honey which is moisture-rich to keep moisture inside the hair. The other ingredients – shea butter and jojoba oil – prevent my hair from dryness, and maintain the moisture balance in my hair. It gives my hair a smooth texture and volume.
