Mercure Singapore Bugis – Explore Singapore’s Local Culture and Heritage in Bugis
July 17, 2019
Mercure Singapore Bugis is a contemporary 4-star hotel in the vibrant enclave of Bras Basah-Bugis. The hotel’s fun design reflects the colourful charm and heritage of a neighbourhood that has it all, from majestic places of worship, historic monuments, street markets, shopping malls and a surplus of appeal. You can simply stroll through the lanes and admire the architecture – a captivating blend of old and new. The following are 5 reasons why you should consider staying at Mercure Singapore Bugis.
#1 – The Rooms and Lofts Are Uniquely Designed
Imagine stepping into a room surrounded by colourful references to Singapore’s heritage – isn’t it fun and fascinating? Jayden and I were hosted in the Signature Loft Room which stands tall over the streets of our hometown as we look out the soaring windows. The queen-size bed on the mezzanine floor is comfortable and super cosy. I, personally, like the placement of the work desk which offers stunning city views. The towering painting reflecting Singapore’s heritage fills the loft with colour and cheer. There are two flatscreen TVs – one upstairs, one down – to keep us entertained during our stay.
#2 – Relax at the Infinity Pool after Working Out in the Gym
There’s no need to interrupt your fitness routine when visiting Singapore. You can stay in shape at the 24-hour gym or do a few laps in the outdoor infinity pool. A refreshing dip in the 25-metre infinity pool is a great way to cool down after a good workout. While you’re there, why not order something from the poolside bar? You deserve a reward for all your efforts.
#3 – Catch the Beautiful Sunset from the Sky Deck
Jayden and I enjoyed watching the sunset from the hotel’s sky deck which boasts a view of Singapore’s cityscape – a mix of modern skyscrapers and traditional local housing estates. You can even catch a glimpse of the NYE fireworks on 31 December (without squeezing uncomfortably with the crazy crowd around the Marina Bay promenade)!
#4 – Chill Out with Family and Friends at the Courtyard
When holidaying with family and friends, I always end up having problems looking for a place within the hotel to gather everyone together and just relax, catch up and have fun. I usually try not to hold gatherings in the hotel room as the space is too small and I’ll also worry about the room getting messed up. Well, Mercure Singapore Bugis has a wonderful solution. The Courtyard space allows you to spend quality time with your loved ones. Bring your own snacks, finger food and drinks and just enjoy the fun times. The Courtyard looks even better at night when the fairy lights are illuminated.
#5 – Indulge in a Plethora of Food at Royale, Song Garden and Bartistry
If you’re a hearty eater, head to Royale for a delectable buffet spread. The menu features international and local cuisine, and the restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Song Garden, on the other hand, offers traditional Cantonese cuisine with a modern twist. Looking for comfort food or for a place to unwind in the evening? Drop by Bartistry for cocktails, mocktails, beer, wine, hot bar bites and gourmet snacks. Afternoon tea is also available at Bartistry between 2pm and 5pm daily.
What Jayden and I love most about Mercure Singapore Bugis is how conveniently the hotel is located. If you want to explore Singapore, this hotel is a perfect spot to begin your adventure.
