LTC Villa – At Home In Nature

Hands up if you’re a Singaporean like me, who find it hard to escape the hurly-burly of daily life in our fast-paced society. I couldn’t find a peaceful spot in my homeland, so I began taking vacations around the world in search of places that are off the beaten path. During my recent holiday in Taiwan with my partner, we came across Nan Zhuang County while driving from Taoyuan to Taichung.

Amidst the mountainous landscapes in Nan Zhuang recreational area lives the friendly local residents whose hospitality only exceeds the beauty of the scenery. We were hosted at the LTC Villa for two nights. The owner, grandpa Chen, used to be a teacher in Taipei before he retired. It has always been his dream to own a piece of land, live with his family, tend to the garden, have animals running around with his grandchildren, and to provide a comfortable and serene accommodation for guests like us.

There are 3 properties within LTC Villa which feature accommodation for up to 4 people. 輕輕雙人房 (Double room) is just right for us. The room is clean and pleasant, and there is a small attic where you can cozy up with your loved one for a round of board game.

In the morning, take a walk up the hill, and you will find yourself surrounded by dozens of beautiful butterflies fluttering from flower to flower. The entire LTC Villa is basically a large garden. There are many varieties of flowers which bloom during different season in this garden.

You will come across a creek which runs through the entire LTC Villa, and ends at a picturesque pond. Look closely and you will notice shrimps, crabs, little fishes, and even frogs in the water. White geese and wild ducks can be found on the banks of the pond. It felt extremely relaxing to close our eyes, and feel the gentle breeze brush past our skin, while listening to the symphonic sounds of water flowing, birds chirping, and leaves rustling in the wind. Head to the café when your stomach starts grumbling. We recommend dining on the patio in the day, and cuddling up in the café under warm lighting at night. The food served here isn’t fanciful, but everything on the menu is freshly prepared. We didn’t mind having an extra companion for breakfast, especially when he is so adorable and obedient. This little cuddlepuff is named 駙馬 (prince consort).

LTC Villa is located near Nanzhuang Old Street, Lion’s Head Mountain Scenic Area, Penglai River Huyu Foot Trail, Luchang, Sky Lake, and more. Do stay a night or two in this less touristy area, and discover the breathtaking scenery while unwinding in a tranquil environment.
