Kyoto Yura Hotel MGallery – Luxurious Boutique Hotel Located at the Heart of Sanjo
November 30, 2019

Established a few months ago in April 2019, the Kyoto Yura Hotel is the first MGallery hotel collection in Japan, located at the heart of bustling Sanjo, one of Kyoto’s most popular dining, shopping and entertainment precincts. The hotel is adjacent to Sanjo Keihan Station and 15 minutes away from the bullet train hub at Kyoto Station. This exquisite boutique hotel features 144 guest rooms with traditional Japanese elements in its design and artworks, a grill restaurant and a bar. The following are 5 reasons why Kyoto Yura Hotel MGallery appealed to Jayden and I.
#1 – Convenient Location

Have you heard of famous restaurants in Kyoto such as Kichi Kichi Omurice, Issen Yoshoku, and Ichiran Ramen, just to name a few? You’ll be pleased to find out that these restaurants are all within walking distance from Kyoto Yura Hotel MGallery. Convenience stores like Lawson, 7eleven and Family Mart are less than 10 minutes’ walk away from the hotel. Moreover, as mentioned in my introduction paragraph, the hotel is adjacent to Sanjo Keihan Station and 15 minutes away from the bullet train hub at Kyoto Station, making your visit to iconic attractions in Kyoto a breeze for you.
#2 – Artistic Design

There is a beautiful tree displayed on the left side of the entrance of Kyoto Yura Hotel MGallery. Upon walking further in, towards the hotel lobby, we noticed a mini bamboo forest. This is a lovely spot for pictures, especially when the area isn’t packed with tourists, unlike the Arashiyama bamboo forest. The thoughtful hotel has even placed traditional oil paper umbrellas for guests to use as photo props. The lobby is also stylishly designed.
#3 – Cosy Lobby

The lobby is not spacious, but we enjoyed the cosy and homely vibes. There are drinks available for guests, and you can simply relax with a good book or catch up with your loved ones on a lazy weekend or rainy afternoon.
#4 – Modern and Clean Rooms and Suites

We were hosted in the Superior King Room which includes unique features such as the cosy nook where guests can enjoy tea on a cold day, an espresso machine for you to kick-start the day with caffeine, and a Bluetooth speaker for you to listen to your own playlist to liven up the atmosphere. Housekeeping is done on a daily basis, so you can be assured that you’ll be able to return to a clean and tidy room after spending a day out exploring Kyoto.
#5 – Indoor Restaurant Which Seems as Though You’re Dining Al Fresco

The 54th Station Grill is an all-day dining restaurant serving buffet breakfast that transits into a special kaiseki, tapas, grill style of dining experience focused around the various cuts and grades of Japanese and Western meats coupled with locally grown and sourced produce. The mini bamboo forest stands in the middle of the restaurant, so it felt as though we were dining outdoor, surrounded by nature. There is also an 1867 bar with creative bartenders experimenting with traditional flavours, styles and textures in ultra modern cocktail concepts.
Kyoto Yura Hotel MGallery is an ideal accommodation for travellers who are looking for a place that’s near the city’s dining, shopping and entertainment precincts, yet far enough from the crowd such that you can still enjoy the tranquillity and take life at a slower pace during your vacation.
