Gateway Hotel Hong Kong – A Fantastic Getaway from Hong Kong’s Busy Streets

Gateway Hotel Hong Kong – A Fantastic Getaway from Hong Kong’s Busy Streets

Housed in Harbour City, Hong Kong’s largest shopping complex, Gateway Hotel, a Marco Polo hotel, combines wonderful accommodation with exciting shopping, entertainment and cultural experiences. The hotel stands at the junction of Canton Road and Haiphong Road in Kowloon and is just a stone’s throw away from the bus terminal, Star Ferry and MTR subway station. From the airport, it takes approximately 35 minutes by car, or 55 minutes by MTR train. The hotel shuttle bus brings you to the airport in 40 minutes. Besides offering easy accessibility, Gateway Hotel also boasts many amenities and facilities to please even the fussiest guest.

My boyfriend and I were hosted at the Superior Suite which features a separate shower and bath, a relaxing lounge area, Nespresso coffee maker and Continental Club privileges. Besides the fast speed in-room WiFi, we enjoyed using the iHome docking system. There’s a Handy smartphone that you can bring out with you and use as a WiFi hotspot. For those of you whose hunger pangs kick in late at night, you’ll be delighted to know that there is 24-hour in-room dining services available.

Staying in the Superior Suite gave us access to the Continental Club which is exclusively designed for the discerning traveller who appreciates that extra level of convenience, personalised service and value. Instead of checking in at the hotel lobby, you get a personalised check-in and check-out service at the Continental Club. The private lounge serves breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktail with Hors d’oeuvres daily. You’ll also be granted access to the Continental Club Library and free usage of the boardroom with full meeting facilities for two hours (subject to availability).

“Three on Canton” is where the hotel tickles your tastebuds while “Be on Canton” is an al fresco dining terrace where you can unwind with cocktails and aperitifs served with delectable bites and take in the sights and sounds of the bustling streets of Hong Kong.

Furthermore, hotel guests get to enjoy gym facilities at Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel or Prince Hotel, only minutes away within the same complex via a covered walkway. There is also a swimming pool at Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel that is open to guests staying at Gateway Hotel.

If you are fascinated by Kowloon where the marriage of Chinese culture and British influence is evident, Gateway Hotel is a great place to begin your holiday. Due to the hotel’s amazing location, you’ll come across an interesting blend of exotic oriental temples, shimmering skyscrapers and 21st century super malls. It’s time to plan your next trip to Hong Kong!
