Four Seasons Hotel Seoul – 10 Fascinating Things You Need to Know about this Luxurious Hotel
August 24, 2019

Seoul is South Korea’s dynamic capital city that is both forward-thinking and rich in tradition and cultural heritage. I was simply awed by the perfect marriage of grand, historic palaces and modern, glass-and-steel structures, surrounded by lush green mountains. If you’re wondering where to begin your indulgent holiday in Seoul, look no further as Four Seasons Hotel Seoul is a great place to start. The following are 10 delightful discoveries I’ve chanced upon during my stay at Four Seasons Hotel Seoul. Hope you’ll find this hotel appealing too.
#1 – The Rooms and Suites Are Luxuriously Furnished and Offer Stunning Panoramic Views of Seoul
Cool and contemporary, each room’s décor draws inspiration from Seoul’s past while also keeping a keen eye on the future, combining classic Korean nature motifs, traditional ideographs and geometric shapes with a clean, modern aesthetic. You won’t find more spacious accommodations anywhere else in the capital. The guest rooms and suites are the largest in the city and are outfitted with high-tech conveniences, spa-like bathrooms, customizable Four Seasons Beds and floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the interiors with natural light.
My travel companion and I were hosted in the Premier Room which boasts ample space for two, with an oversized living area, an executive desk and smartly designed, Italian-marble bathroom. The interior design features traditional Korean silks and ceramics with details inspired by modern Korean patterns in Kingfisher glaze blue and warm earthy tones.
#2 – Impeccable Service Standard
Having stayed at so many hotels around the world, service standard has become an important factor for me in determining how good a hotel is. At Four Seasons Hotel Seoul, the concierge and front desk team made us feel very welcomed the moment we arrived. The team is always alert, friendly and helpful, and they’re so willing to go the extra mile for their guests. We would like to commend Estelle for patiently showing us around the hotel, William for making our stay fun and enjoyable, and Sunny for recommending good and local places to check out.
#3 – Savour a Range of International Cuisines at Different Restaurants
At Four Seasons Hotel Seoul, there are a few restaurants you can choose to dine at. Begin your day with a hearty breakfast buffet at The Market Kitchen – reminiscent of a bustling European market hall featuring an international bazaar of foods, flavours and cuisines, all prepared à la minute at interactive, live cooking stations. We like how family-friendly Four Seasons Hotel Seoul is – they thoughtfully included a kids’ corner near the restaurant.
Depending on the type of cuisine you crave, you can look forward to having classic southern Italian dishes at Boccalino, join celebrity chef Akira Back at a unique and creative dining experience with modern Japanese fare and a Korean essence that will stimulate and excite your senses, indulge in authentic Cantonese cuisine at the Michelin-starred Yu Yuan restaurant which brings the grandeur of Shanghai’s swinging 1920s to modern Seoul, or make yourself at home at Maru. ‘Maru’ means ‘living room’ in Korean. You can enjoy a refined offering of Korean favourites and international dishes at Maru.
#4 – Charles H. Bar
Mysterious, exotic, glamorous and steeped in the worldly romance of its namesake bon vivant, the legendary Charles H. Baker, this intimate bar discreetly hidden away on Four Seasons Hotel Seoul’s lower level is where cocktail connoisseurs go to find the perfect drink. It is named the Best Bar in South Korea, ranking #14 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2019 list. It was also ranked #64 on The World’s 100 Best Bars 2018 list.
#5 – Join the Four Seasons Club Seoul
As much as the Koreans love nightlife and clubbing, I’m referring to another kind of ‘club’ at Four Seasons Hotel Seoul. Members who join the Four Seasons Club Seoul can socialise between workouts at The Gym, unwind in the Korean sauna or at the Spa, broker deals over gourmet meals in one of their private dining rooms or entertain at the exclusive Members’ Club lounge.
The spacious Gym includes over 120 state-of-the-art weight and cardiovascular machines, a fitness studio with a Pilates room, a GX studio offering group classes as well as certified trainers on request. With cold, warm and hot baths, dry and wet sauna rooms, separate men’s and women’s lounges, views over one of Seoul’s most picturesque palaces, a TV and reading lounge, and a collection of beds available for midday naps, the Hotel’s Korean sauna offers Club members an exclusive retreat in the heart of Seoul where you can unwind and relax. There’s also a three-lane indoor swimming pool with an adjacent vitality pool and a children’s plunge pool available.
#6 – Experience a Round of Golf
The Golf Experience at Four Seasons Hotel Seoul brings the world’s top courses to you. Five 3-D screens located in their facilities display a variety of scenery from real courses around the world. Combine this with state-of-the-art technology from TrackMan, and you’re met with a virtual golf simulator that can analyse your swing and posture, plus offer personalised tips to improve your game. Hitting the links has never been more convenient thanks to the Golf Experience’s comfortable setting and flexible hours of operation.

#10 – The Hotel’s Location is More than Ideal
Steps from Seoul’s most venerable historic sites and neighbourhoods, yet entrenched in the modern central business district, Four Seasons Hotel Seoul puts you right in the heart of South Korea’s pulsing capital city. Go sightseeing at nearby Bukchon Hanok Traditional Village or Sejong Cultural Centre 5, shop the high-end boutiques in the Myeong-Dong Shopping District, or explore the beautiful grounds of Gyeongbokgung Palace, located just a few blocks away.
As for public transportation, the 6002 bus takes you directly from Incheon International Airport to Four Seasons Hotel Seoul. The Hotel can also be conveniently reached via the subway – simply alight at Gwanghwamun Station and it’s just a 3 minutes’ walk away.
Sometimes, I take very long to come up with good points to help promote a hotel that I’ve stayed in. However, Four Seasons Hotel Seoul is an exception. It seems as though I can’t stop raving about my stay and my experience. There are just too many exciting things to talk about. Sounds too good to be true? Well, you’ll just have to book a stay with Four Seasons Hotel Seoul to experience it yourself.
