Feng Jia Night Market – Experience Taiwan’s Exciting Night Life in Taichung
January 13, 2018

Taiwan is well known for its vibrant night markets which offer plenty of street food, trendy clothes, and any other miscellaneous goodies you can think of. Feng Jia Night Market is the largest, most popular, and most interesting night market in Taichung city. It started out as a small market around Feng Jia University, and expanded due to the overwhelming response after the freeway system was built, and Taichung Airport was renovated.
When your hunger pangs kick in at night, Feng Jia Night Market is the perfect place for you! There is an abundance of enticing food such as sausages in sticky rice rolls, crepes, octopus meat balls, super tall ice creams, extra long French fries, XXL fried chicken cutlet, suckling pig, and many more.
We highly recommend the chicken cutlet from 按摩雞排 (I think this is the name of the stall). The Chinese name is directly translated into “Massage Chicken Chop” – perhaps, the chicken meat was massaged before being cooked, hence it was super tender. It’s best to pair the chicken chop with a cup of Taro Milk Tea from 茶魔手.
There are quite a number of restaurants in the vicinity too. One night is definitely not enough to cover the entire Feng Jia Night Market. Fortunately for us, we stayed in Taichung for 2 nights, and spent both nights exploring Feng Jia Night Market.
