3 Fantastic Eateries in Ninh Binh Offering Scrumptious Vietnamese Food
October 23, 2019

Ever since July 2019, Ninh Binh holds a special place in my heart because Jayden proposed to me atop the Hang Mua Peak. The proposal deserves an entire article by itself, so I shall save this lovey dovey story for next time. Whenever Jayden and I travel, we’re more than willing to spend a lot more on food, and will usually research on the best local places to dine at and must-eat local foods. Needless to say, during our vacation in Ninh Binh, we shortlisted a few eateries to try, and have gathered 3 of our top favourite eateries to share with all of you in this article.
#1 – Minh Toan Restaurant Father Cooking
Minh Toan Restaurant Father Cooking is situated right beside Tam Coc pier. Both the fried and steamed spring rolls generously stuffed with meat fillings were delicious. We wanted to try something unique and went for the Fried Tofu Stuffed with Meat. Each flavourful piece only whetted our appetites for more. The Grilled Pork was another unforgettable dish. We highly recommend pairing the dishes with the eatery’s special fried rice. We enjoyed the food so much that we went back to dine again the following day.
Minh Toan Restaurant Father Cooking
Address: Tam Coc Bich Dong, Ninh Hải, Ninh Bình, 430000, Vietnam
Opening Hours: Daily 8am to 10pm.
#2 – Bamboo Bar and Restaurant
With its entire architecture, furniture and fittings made from bamboo, this eatery’s façade captured our attention first. You can either dine indoor or relax outdoor with a view that overlooks Ninh Binh’s rice fields. Since goat meat is a local delicacy in Ninh Binh, Jayden decided to try the Grilled Goat with onions and garlic. This dish is served with steamed rice, and he liked the texture and flavour of the grilled goat meat. I’m not a fan of goat meat or mutton due to the gamey taste, so I ordered a safer choice of grilled pork. If you’re interested in trying goat meat, you can also order the Fried Goat with Lemongrass and Sesame or the Goat Skewer with Sesame. Check out their Facebook page for more information.
Bamboo Bar and Restaurant
Address: Van Lam, ĐT491C, Ninh Thắng, Hoa Lư, Ninh Bình, Vietnam
Opening Hours: Daily 8am to 10.30pm.
#3 – Chu’s House
This eatery has an air-conditioned indoor seating, as well as, an outdoor dining area. It is located opposite the Tam Coc Pier. Don’t be surprised if an adorable little puppy runs to you out of a sudden as this furball is the owner’s precious pet. The menu at Chu’s House features comfort food like burgers, pizzas and sandwiches, on top of commonly found Vietnamese favourites such as banh mi and a few noodles and rice dishes. You can chill at this eatery in the afternoon and cool off with their selection of freshly squeezed juices and milkshakes.
Chu’s House

Despite being a small town in Vietnam, Ninh Binh still has hidden gems like the tasty food we savoured at the eateries mentioned above. I hope you’re a foodie just like us!
