I believe that everyone who has stepped foot into Hong Kong has definitely paid a visit to Victoria Harbour. Boasting its impressive skyline, the Victoria Harbour is a great spot to catch the sunset and watch the city light up. Besides riding the Star Ferry and visiting attractions around it including the museums, malls, and skyscrapers, you should take a break and experience the ultimate Italian cuisine with Chef de Cuisine Andrea Delzanno at the helm of Cucina.

Chef Andrea’s culinary philosophy is blending centuries-old traditions of Italian gastronomy with an innovative twist. Be prepared to lose yourself in a menu of Italian wines, and succumb to the temptation of delectable desserts.

The restaurant has floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the stunning Victoria Harbour. I would recommend making reservations early in order to be seated at the tables with unblocked views. My boyfriend and I were hosted for dinner at Cucina, and we had grilled Sicilian octopus and seared Hokkaido scallops on lemon scented potatoes, black olives, pesto and tomatoes for our starter. The octopus and scallops were extremely fresh. Imagine the burst of tasty flavours and textures in your mouth – the chewy texture of the octopus, the juicy sweetness of the scallops, coupled with the spices and condiments – simply heavenly.

For the mains, we tried Linguine with Sicilian red prawns, prawn sauce reduction and fresh cherry tomatoes and the Baked whole Mediterranean seabass with lemon, oil and chive. The prawn sauce reduction was very well concocted. While we could taste the strong natural flavours of the crustacean, the cherry tomatoes gave the dish a refreshing end. The seabass was huge and fleshy. Although the marinade sounds simple, Chef Andrea managed to tickle our taste buds with this dish. Please note that we tried the tasting portion which is smaller as compared to the actual portions served.

The evening ended with three attractive desserts – the Pink Tiramisu, Affogato and the classic Crème Brûlée. On first look, we couldn’t tell that the pink dessert was Tiramisu until we tasted it. On the other hand, the Affogato dessert will be perfect for coffee lovers. As for the Crème Brûlée, I shall leave you in suspense so you’ll have to try it yourself to savour the unique twist.

Whether you’re looking for a place for a casual meal, or to celebrate a special occasion, Cucina is a wonderful dining destination to consider. The interactive dining area, bar and cocktail area, al fresco seating and the outdoor area provide you with different options. Moreover, the food quality was excellent.
