Cauayan Resort – Escape to a Paradise of Tranquillity and Haven of Comfort (Promo Code Available!)
June 05, 2019

Cauayan Resort is a luxury resort that embodies the pristine beauty of its natural surroundings and first class personalized services. Indulge yourself in a perfect serene lifestyle vacation. The beach coastline is a welcoming picturesque of clear blue water and a vast stretch of white sand beach that exudes a tropical ambiance. It captivates the true essence of natural beauty with its surroundings of lush greens and wide array of flower blooms. I’m counting my blessings because Cauayan Resort hosted me to a 2-nights stay on their private island resort. The following are 5 reasons why I will stay at Cauayan Resort again if I revisit El Nido.
#1 – Each Villa is Designed with Spectacular Views that Redefine Cosiness and Relaxation
All the 27 rooms are intricately designed and defined with elegance that gives you a warm welcome. Comfy and style are combined to have a relaxing feel during your stay. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the beach, garden and lake from the comfort of your rooms.
My first night was spent in the Water Villa which is raised in stilts above the blue water with a space of 56.5 square metres. The Water Villa is a soothing sanctuary. I got to chill at my very own wooden deck with drop lounge beds that has a full view of the ocean. You can expect a king-sized bed, indoor marble tub, and outdoor shower. The audio system is pretty good, and I love that the television can be hidden. You’re able to rent movies from the reception if you’re a night owl and need some entertainment in the evening.
I got upgraded on my second night and spent it in the Cauayan Pool Villa with a resort view. Perched on top of the hill, this suite villa has the most majestic 360-degree view of the island. I enjoyed lounging in the open air private deck with a dipping pool. It’s almost like an infinity pool, and I could watch the sunset in the spacious and al fresco setting suite.
#2 – Experience a Hike up to the Sunrise Peak or Sunset Peak
There are two hiking trails that you can take on Cauayan Resort. My plan was to hike both peaks, but I only managed to complete the sunrise peak. It was not possible to hike the sunset peak as there was a thunderstorm in the evening. I’ve done many hikes around Europe and Asia, but I never imagined the sunrise hike here to be the toughest hike that I’ve experienced. It’s compulsory to go with a guide, and gloves and torchlights will be provided. One third of the hike was done on dirt road, but I wasn’t prepared to climb rocks for the remaining trail before arriving at the peak. Climbing up was exhausting but it was done in the dark, so my fear of heights did not emerge. However, I had a huge problem descending the peak. Thankfully, the guide was helpful and kept encouraging me. He even helped to carry my backpack. This unforgettable hiking experience was totally worth the 4am wake-up call.
#3 – The Activities Offered at Cauayan Resort Will Keep You Fully Occupied on the Island
There’s not a dull moment at Cauayan Resort. There are endearing and endless possibilities of activities that relaxes your mind and fill your day with heart-warming moments. Kick-off your morning activities and explore the island’s splendid sight-seeing spots. The kayak and snorkelling gears are free for all guests’ use, and you can paddle your way to the mangrove forests, limestone cliffs and lowland forests across the sea. If you’re not much of a swimmer, you can laze around on the private beach or take a dip in the infinity pool.
I didn’t have time to participate in the diving course, but if you have a diving certificate, you can explore the beauty of the underworld and be fascinated with colourful corals and wide varieties of underwater creatures of El Nido. The Cauayan Diving Centre offers various diving activities and locations to discover. They have over 15 dive sites that are open all-year round and good for all levels of experience. The sites include sloped reefs, wall dives and Dilumacad Tunnel.
#4 – Spa Treatment Rooms with Stunning Views
Rejuvenate and pamper yourself with signature island massages that soothe your entire body, relax the mind and invigorate the soul. The spa treatment room is surrounded by floor to ceiling glass windows which look out to gorgeous views of the island. It’s the first time I tried my best not to drift off to dreamland during the massage session as the glass bottom floor allows me to observe colourful fishes and corals. I was lucky enough to spot a baby shark!
#5 – Pool-side Restaurant
The restaurant is located beside the resort’s infinity pool and you can choose to dine al fresco. It’s a good option for dinner because the evening is usually breezy and when night falls, you’ll be able to see many stars in the sky. Moreover, the infinity pool is illuminated by colourful lights at night which makes quite a sight. You can look forward to indulging in a festivity of gastronomical cuisine and have a taste of the island’s unique flavours. The comprehensive menu is thoughtfully curated by Cauayan Resort’s trained chef. Whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner, you can savour well-balanced flavours and island spices concocted for that special taste. I’ll be sharing a full review on the dining experience in another article soon.
