Buttermilk Restaurant – Experience Elevated Comfort Food and a Joyful Vibe with Buttermilk’s New Menu

August 14, 2019

In keeping with amba’s playful style, Buttermilk restaurant introduces a fun, urban dining experience to the evolving Zhongshan shopping and entertainment district in the city centre. Created by churning butter from cream, buttermilk is natural, comforting, and wholesome. Enjoy all the freshness and indulgence the ‘Buttermilk’ name suggests and a creatively designed menu that reflects America’s cultural melting pot.

Savour nostalgic classics from the southern states, healthy superfood bowls and ceviches, charcuterie boards, prime steaks, hand-crafted beer, new world wines by the glass, and decadent desserts. Dishes you shouldn’t miss are the Buttermilk Fried Chicken, the Fire-Grilled US Natural Beef Ribeye Steak seasoned with a Korean rub, the Gourmet Cheeseburger with duck fat frites, the Hawaiian Salmon Poke Bowl, and the Signature Blueberry Lattice Pie. I’ve previously tucked into the sinfully good Buttermilk Fried Chicken, and it left such a delicious impression that I requested to have it again besides trying the restaurant’s new dishes.

For starters, I highly recommend the Salmon Tartare with Avocado and Mango (450TWD). This colourful and attractive combination of cubed fresh salmon, avocado, mango, and salmon roe, is served with toasts. The refreshing fruity sauce made my appetite grow bigger and made me even hungrier. I couldn’t wait for the mains to be served.

If you’re watching your diet, go for the Yellowfin Tuna and Kale Salad (450TWD). This mouthwatering salad is loaded with omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants, featuring generous chunks of yellowfin tuna, superfood kale so fresh that you can taste the crunch, creamy avocado, edamame beans, and corn. The orange reduction dressing gives the salad a tangy twist. Pretty sure this dish will only whet your appetite for more (even though you’re on a diet).

For hearty diners, you must try the Slow-Roasted US Baby Back Ribs with Watermelon BBQ Sauce (590TWD Half || 980TWD Full). This saucy, tender, flavourful, falloff-the-bone ribs, is served with pickled watermelon. Since it’s the summer season, watermelon is a great condiment to zest up the flavour of the ribs. I was extremely full after devouring the ribs. But, a girl always has an extra stomach for desserts, doesn’t she?

The Mississippi Mud Farm (350TWD) is totally made for chocolate and Oreo lovers. The pie is made in-house with a chocolate crust, chocolate mousse, and crushed Oreos. I’m glad that it wasn’t overwhelmingly rich, or it would’ve been too much for me.

Are you ready to let the good times roll any time of the day at Buttermilk? Start the day right with a tasty buffet breakfast, enjoy the weekday lunch special with delicious options at exceptional value, or unwind with a craft beer or cocktail and savour exciting sharing menus in the evening. Hope you’ll enjoy the food as much as I did!
