Blue Lotus Mediterranean Kitchen + Bar – Soak in the Romantic Ambience this Valentine’s Day with a 4-Course Dinner
January 31, 2018

Blue Lotus Mediterranean Kitchen + Bar is Blue Lotus Concepts International’s first foray into Western dining. Boasting a beautiful garden with sofa seats, this restaurant is ideal for after-work chillax sessions. Afraid of the sweltering heat? There is indoor dining available too. Offering a variety of Spanish, Italian, Greek and Portuguese favourites from tapas and pizzas to pastas, paellas and succulent meat dishes, even the fussiest palates would be appeased here.
Begin your meal with interesting concoctions of cocktails such as the Signature Blue Lotus ($15) which comprises of Chrysanthemum infused rum with a touch of orange. This is a strong cocktail with a floral twist. For those who prefer a refreshing cocktail, go for the Ipanema Mist ($15) which combines green tea and lemon infused vodka with passion fruit.
This Valentine’s Day, Chef Ricky Ng has rolled out a 4-course dinner menu ($128++ per couple) which consists a platter, a soup, a main, a dessert, and 2 complimentary glasses of prosecco. The Special Mezze Platter features warm, fragrant pita accompanied by the smoked oyster dip, hummus dip, and cod brandade dip. I, personally, love the smoked oyster dip. The creaminess is just right, and it packs plenty of smoky oyster flavour – a wonderful appetizer for oyster lovers.
The Prawn Bisque has a sweet crustacean flavour, and slides smoothly down the throat. Made with prawn oil, cream and grilled tiger prawns, the texture is light which makes every mouthful enjoyable.
For your main, you can choose to have either the Spice-rubbed Mediterranean Sea Bass with roasted cherry tomatoes, peppers, zucchinis, and olive-tomatoes sauce or the Char-grilled Angus oyster blade with roasted cherry tomatoes, asparagus, Foie gras butter and red wine sauce. Hearty diners will prefer the sous-vide Angus oyster blade. It is tender, and pairs well with the Foie gras butter and red wine sauce.
Do remember to save some stomach space for the 70% Dark Chocolate Pot de Crème which comes with fresh strawberries and mint berries compote. It is not too sweet, nor too rich – good job to the chef for achieving the well-balanced flavours. I really like the melt-in-your-mouth texture too.
Besides the delectable dishes, the romantic fairy lights enhance the entire dining experience. The restaurant is conveniently located about 5 minutes walk away from Labrador Park MRT Station. It is pretty near to Vivo City, yet still far away from the hustle and bustle if you prefer an intimate Valentine’s Day dinner. Don’t wait anymore if you haven’t booked a place for Valentine’s – Blue Lotus Mediterranean Kitchen + Bar is a great option.
