amba Taipei Zhongshan – Stylish Hotel in a Culturally Rich Neighbourhood

What factors do you take into consideration before booking a hotel or any accommodation when you’re travelling abroad? For me, convenience is key! I prefer staying near metro stations for easy accessibility when exploring a city, which makes amba Taipei Zhongshan one of my favourite hotels in Taipei. Located in the Zhongshan commercial and shopping district of central Taipei, amba Taipei Zhongshan hotel is a stylish address on tree-lined Zhongshan North Road, just a five-minute walk to Taipei Metro Zhongshan Station.

Relax in one of their 90 thoughtfully designed rooms, from beautiful corner rooms with views of tree-lined Zhongshan North Road to attractive balcony rooms with a private terrace. Each room is sparkling clean and very comfortable. The bright, minimal design is offset with rustic teak furnishings, large windows, and playful, colorful artworks. Besides free WiFi, you also get to enjoy super high-speed data transfer rates of up to 200 Mbps with separate access points. We love streaming our playlist via the wireless Bluetooth® speaker.

On every floor of amba Taipei Zhongshan, there is a communal area where you can gather and catch up with friends and family, or hold a business meeting with your client. Travelling alone? You can also take some time out to unwind, and flip through their interesting lifestyle magazines.

Begin your day with a delightful spread of breakfast items at Buttermilk restaurant before exploring the neighbourhood. There is a traditional morning market where locals do their grocery shopping near Shuanglian Station. Shin Kong Mitsukashi stores 1, 2 and 3 are just a stone’s throw away from the hotel.

In the evenings, watch the chefs from Buttermilk restaurant whip up classic American favourites, and savour scrumptious items such as Fire Grilled US Natural Brandt Beef Ribeye Steak, Grandma’s Buttermilk Boneless Fried Chicken, 10oz Fire Grilled Pork Chop “On the Bone”, and more. The adventurous ones will love hanging out at the hidden MUD bar which is located at the basement of the hotel. The bar is not accessible by lift and we had fun looking for the entrance!

Those with heartier appetites can head to Ningxia Night Market before calling it a day. This night market is approximately 15 minutes’ walk away, and serves a wide variety of street food.

Furthermore, amba Taipei Zhongshan is only one metro stop away from Taipei Main Station for Taiwan High Speed Rail and Taiwan Railway. The hotel is a 10 minutes’ drive to Ximending, 20 minutes’ drive to Taipei 101 and Taipei World Trade Center, and 40 minutes’ drive from Taiwan International Taoyuan Airport.

I would recommend amba Taipei Zhongshan to business travellers, families, and couples. The digitally-equipped rooms will ensure that you’re always connected (which is what most of us need nowadays right?!) Moving on … Did I mention that Zhongshan North Road is also called the Avenue of Happiness? Reason being – it’s known for its bridal boutiques and photography salons.
