Amaya Food Gallery – Be Enticed by Culinary Delights at Amari Watergate Bangkok
September 15, 2017

Bangkok is an ultimate foodie’s heaven. Whether you’re craving local street food, or international cuisines, there’s something for everyone here. You can mingle with the locals, and dine at the roadside eateries, or polish yourself up and head to one of the fine dining restaurants in Bangkok. There’s so much you can experience in this vibrant city! Recently, Amari Watergate Bangkok hosted our 3D2N stay, and we were invited to have lunch and dinner at their award-winning restaurant – Amaya Food Gallery.
Amaya Food Gallery showcases fresh Asian and international cuisine in an all-new contemporary and hip dining environment. There are live cooking stations with a variety of flavours inspired by street food favourites including Amaya Thai and Southeast Asia, Amaya Market Grill, Amaya Indian, Amaya Italian, Amaya Deli, Amaya Bar, and the Amaya Cellar.
Amaya Lunch Buffet
Whether you had a hard morning at work, or are feeling lethargic due to Bangkok’s hot weather, it’s a good idea to re-energize yourself with lunch at Amaya Food Gallery. Awaken your palates with carefully chosen ingredients that are turned into scrumptious dishes. We especially liked the Thai station which featured Pad Thai, Thai Papaya Salad, Crispy Pork, and many other Thai favourites. The Pad Thai had a nice balance of sweet and savoury flavours, and was neither too dry nor too moist. Well executed, each mouthful was so gratifying.
The unique Mango Chutney from the Indian station tickled our taste buds. It was surprisingly good, with the right amount of sweetness. It paired really well with the cheese and garlic naan. There were also a Japanese station serving sushi and sashimi, a seafood station with freshly shucked oysters, mussels, and squids, an Italian station where you can create your own cheesy pasta using the cheese wheel, a dessert and fruits station, and more.
Friday Seafood Night
There is no buffet spread available for dinner from Mondays to Thursdays, only ala carte. However, Friday nights are special as seafood lovers, like ourselves, get to indulge in a selection of lobsters, crabs, prawns, cockles, mussels, and oysters, just to name a few. You can place your order of lobsters with the waitress, but do note that each person is entitled to only half a lobster. We had it baked with cheese, and served with XO sauce. The chefs will be able to grill the lobsters for you, and you can have them served with other sauces too. The lobster flesh was fresh and juicy. It was baked to the right timing, as it wasn’t too tough nor dry.
The Market Grill offers more choices in the evenings, and you can request for grilled rock lobsters, prawns, or choose to have beef tenderloin, sirloin, pork, squid, or salmon. Our attention was too focused on the seafood station, and we didn’t have much stomach space left to enjoy the rest of the buffet stations.
There are beverage packages available for the Amaya Friday Seafood Night. Pair your seafood with the Chandon Package (THB 2,150++), Cocktail & Beer Package (THB 1,950++), or Juice & Soft Drink Package (THB 1,690).
Amaya Food Gallery also caters to the needs of children. There is a children’s menu designed to satisfy the little tummies. You can also reserve an intimate space for private dining. With such a huge spread of appetizing food, we laughed and conversed while sharing the dishes. It was such a memorable evening.
