Located in Houli, Taichung, Zhong She Guan Guang Flower Market (中社觀光花市) borders Sanyi Huoyanshan and Wood Sculpture Street on the North, and old Tai’an Station, Tai’an Railway Cultural Park, Houli Horse Ranch and Pilu Chan Temple on the East. The flower fields are 6 hectares large, and feature a myriad of blooms throughout all seasons. I wouldn’t call this a flower market. It felt more like attending a flower carnival where almost all corners are picture-perfect. Are you ready to take in all the colours and aroma of the flowers in full bloom?

Upon entering, you will find anemone, carnation, gerbera, lupin, rose, and many other types of flowers which paint the fields like a rainbow. Before we decided on visiting Zhong She Guan Guang Flower Market, our initial plan was to pop by a sunflower plantation in Taoyuan but the owner told us that the sunflower season has ended so it is not worth making a trip down. I was so sad and disappointed as the sunflower is my favourite flower. Well, I’m pretty sure you’re able to imagine how happy and excited I felt when we came across a mini sunflower field at this particular flower market.

The main draw of Zhong She Guan Guang Flower Market is the tulip field. This market is the only flower market in central Taiwan that succeeded in growing tulips in low altitude areas. Approximately 150,000 tulip bulbs with differing varieties are planted and in full bloom from January to March each year. Unfortunately, we missed out on the tulips as we were there in November.

Whether you’re a travel photographer or a wedding photographer, Zhong She Guan Guang Flower Market is a wonderful sight to capture. They even created the Wedding Photo Backdrop Zone which features backdrops of European Fairytale Cottage, Pavilion of Happiness, Wedding Gown Arch, and the White Piano, just to name a few.

Feeling hungry after all the posing and snapping? The BBQ Zone is the largest indoor barbecue spot in central Taiwan. It can serve parties of up to 800 people at a time. With good ventilation and wonderful views, it’ll be so fun to dine here with a big group of friends.
